Where It All Began

As a child my mother was always the classroom mom throughout my time in grade school. She organized classroom parties and events, and made baked goods for every single one. Everyone was always so ecstatic for everything she made–and I too wanted to become a part of that excitement.

From a young age I took an interest in baking. I started assisting my mom when she prepared for my classroom events. As I grew older, I began discovering more and more recipes, baking tips and hacks, and idea that I constantly was inspired by. During my time in high school I started baking for my presentations. Seeing such a positive reaction from my peers an idea sparked–I could make cupcakes on a regular basis, and try selling them to my peers.

Although I was nervous to try this idea out, the first attempt was a huge success, and I sold out before the end of the day. Each week about twice a week of my senior year of high school, I would bake a batch of cupcakes, cookies, or brownies and sell them. I loved seeing peoples’ reactions when they ate something as simple as a cupcake or a cookie, which was when I realized that I wanted to turn my passion for baking into a career–so I could continue sharing something so special with those around me.

Since then I have created my own baking business, catering to all kinds of events including but not limited to: birthdays, weddings, and showers. I also participate in local markets in which I get to share my passion/products as well as meet the most amazing people. I am beyond grateful for all of the support I have received from those in my community and I am excited for what's to come in the future for Kristen's Cupcake Cafe.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
